Now offering virtual EMDR therapy services!

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) was designed to assist individuals in healing from symptoms and emotional distress as a result of past painful or traumatic experiences. Psychological trauma is held in the mind similar to that of physical trauma in the body. Much like a physical wound is repaired by the body once a foreign object has been removed, psychological trauma can be improved by removing the blockage in our mental processes that is inhibit us from moving forward. Our brain’s information processing system naturally wants to move towards mental health.

EMDR does not erase painful memories, however, works to desensitize the negative emotions attached to the memory that is inhibiting us from moving towards psychological health. Trained EMDR therapists use detailed protocols and procedures to help clients activate their natural healing processes.
